Sabbatical to Portugal…’18

I arrived in Portugal! Finally fulfilling a bucket list item after 29 years in the making. It was in 1989, on a world tour and an attempt to figure out my future, that I thought I could slip into materials distribution. Specifically, beautiful utilitarian hard surfaces like tile, stone and anything else to improve architectural sophistication and interior design. I had thought that by merely entering the industry I would have naturally ended up visiting Portugal, what I consider the center of the tile universe, along with Spain and Morocco. I’m finally taking the initiative!

I recognize this venture as a Sabbatical. I hope to dive into tile’s gorgeous use and promote decorative tile. Hopefully, by the end of this Sabbatical, I’ll be able to provide more and varied products to Norberry that appeal to the Northwest aesthetic.
